Other people may suggest heading to the Ponte Vecchio at sunset to bask in the orange light across the river before heading for dinner. However, our favourite thing to do is take an early morning stroll over the most famous bridge in Italy without the crowds and watch the sunrise. The shops haven’t yet opened their doors, the tourists are still getting ready for the day, it’s just the two of you watching the sun come up on your first day in this magical city.
Choose from an abundance of excellent coffee shops (bars) nearby to kick start your day after an early start. Add our personal favourite of a Cornetto al Pistacchio (pistachio croissant) to your order, and you’re in Italian breakfast heaven!
Two beautiful settings to take a stroll through are the Rose Garden next to Piazzale Michelangelo. Filled with hundreds of different types of roses, it’s the ideal location for a walk with your valentine. Breathe in the heady aroma of the flowers that surround you and unwind in this picturesque giardino. Another charming backdrop to your special weekend away should be the Boboli Gardens. An excellent mix of nature and art, this unique space houses exquisite sculptures throughout, including a wonderful panoramic view at the top of the hill.

Located at the bottom of Monte Amiata once there, take a visit to the Peschiera, an impressive lake surrounded by the village offering a wonderful backdrop to photos of the two of you that you’ll cherish forever. Another unique place to see here is the Church of the Madonna Della Neve, the floor of which gives a viewpoint to the spring of the Fiora water running below. An unforgettable experience.
